Midnight Angelfish (a color variant of Pterophyllum scalare known for their striking solid black or dark coloration, tall triangular body shape, and long flowing fins. They are selectively bred from the wild-type silver angelfish with black stripes. They often do best in small groups when young and may show some lighter markings or less intense black as they develop their full color (which can take months). Perform regular water changes (10–25% weekly) space and stable conditions to thrive with good filtration. Planted aquariums with broad-leaf plants (like Amazon swords or Vallisneria), vertical driftwood, and tall décor for hiding and territory. They appreciate some open swimming space but need cover to feel secure. Avoid strong currents. They do well in groups of 5+ in larger tanks to diffuse aggression. They may nip at slow-moving or long-finned tankmates NOT ideal for nano tanks.
