MAINTENANCE: Perform frequent partial water changes (25–50% weekly or more). They prefer well-oxygenated water. Avoid overfeeding to prevent poor water quality and obesity.
TEMPERAMENT: Peaceful but very active and fast swimmers. Best kept with other similar-sized, fast-moving fish (other comets or common goldfish).
TANK MATE: Avoid very small fish or slow fancy goldfish, as comets may outcompete them for food. They are social and do best in groups.
TANK: Provide open swimming space with some plants (real or silk) for cover, but avoid dense decor that restricts movement. Smooth substrate is ideal. They can jump, so a secure lid is recommended.
